We want that your child should enjoy the best possible start in life. Glenhurst follows the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum which focuses on the 7 areas of learning and development.

Your child will be learning skills, acquiring new knowledge and demonstrating their understanding through the 7 areas of learning and development.

Children should mostly develop the 3 prime areas first.

These are:

  • Communication and Language
  • Physical Development
  • Personal, Social and Emotional Development

Key Person

We assign each child a Key Person who monitors and assesses the child’s individual learning goals. Your child’s Key Person is there to guarantee continuity and stability and is responsible for keeping you informed about your child’s progress and to be there to help with any problems. Your child’s Key Person will support your child and will make sure that the activities that take place each day are suited to your child’s unique needs and interests.

Our Nursery team build close partnerships with parents, in particular with regards to receiving information on individual routines, nap times, meal times, comfort items and favourite songs. A communication form is completed and read to parents every day with information such as nappy changes, sleep times, food and drink and any other additional information about your child’s day. Parents can feel safe in the knowledge that their child will thrive and develop in our Nursery.
